in Garden Grove
At Prime Dumpster, we provide porta potty rentals throughout Garden Grove, California, and the north and central Orange County cities packed in around it. Units go out to construction and remodeling work along Harbor Boulevard and Garden Grove Boulevard, apartment and hotel projects near the resort district, industrial tenant improvements off Knott and Western, and events of every size, from a street festival on Main Street to a church carnival in a parking lot.
What you pay reflects the unit, the count, the length of the rental, and how often we return to pump and clean. Below are our ranges, the counts California puts on a job site, the City offices that control public ground, and what delivery timing looks like here.
Every range above assumes a three-day rental, and in Orange County that is the practical minimum for an event. One Saturday and a Friday to Sunday run usually come out the same, so keep the full window.
Construction orders run in four-week cycles with the service built in. A mid-rise job near the resort district and a kitchen remodel on a residential street are very different orders, and the weekly rate drops once the first cycle is behind you.
California is where the arithmetic shifts. The state counts toilets separately for each sex at every crew size, with no upper cut-off, and then adds a washing station for every twenty workers that has to stand outside the toilet unit. A mixed crew of twenty in Garden Grove buys two toilet facilities and a sink, not one unit.
The last factor is space. Garden Grove lots are tight, and the City's event paperwork asks for a parking plan covering 125 percent of expected attendance, which eats into the ground available for a restroom bank. Working out the placement early is usually cheaper than moving units on the day. Your account manager will plan that with you.

Our porta potty calculator gives you a quick starting number, and your account manager will refine it.
Pick by who uses the unit and how long the job runs. The full range is on our porta potty options page.
The Standard Porta Potty is the everyday choice: a private stall with a toilet, a urinal, a paper holder, and sanitizer. Most crew counts are built from these.
The ADA-Compliant Porta Potty is wider, enters flat with no step, and carries grab bars and wheelchair turning space. Any public event should have one.
The Deluxe Flushing Porta Potty adds a flushing bowl and sharper odor control, which guests notice at a wedding or a corporate day.
The Deluxe Porta Potty with Sink puts a sink, soap, and a mirror inside the stall, which keeps guests from wandering a crowded lot looking for water.
The Solar Porta Potty takes light and fan power from a roof panel, which suits an evening event or a fenced site with no power yet.
The Handwashing Station is a free-standing sink with clean water, soap, and towels. On a California job site it is a required item rather than an upgrade.
The Restroom Trailer tows in with several private stalls, plumbed water, and climate control, which suits weddings, company events, and long-running sites.
Not sure which way to go? Tell your account manager the guest count or crew split and they will set the mix.
On private ground, including your own yard, a parking lot you control, or a fenced job site, Garden Grove does not permit the unit itself. Public ground and organized events are a different story.
Streets, sidewalks, and traffic lanes: Public Works issues a right-of-way encroachment permit, and the City's own form covers anyone applying for permission to excavate, construct, close traffic lanes, or otherwise encroach on the City public right of way. That last phrase is what reaches a portable restroom set in the street. You submit a sketch or plan of the work, state the number of anticipated working days, and book inspection 48 hours in advance. Anything that interferes with normal traffic movement needs prior approval from the Traffic Engineering Division with a traffic control plan. The encroachment application also commits the applicant to indemnify the City at their own expense. The Public Works number on the form is 714-741-5887.
Organized events: Garden Grove requires a community and special event permit, and the deadline is firm. The application has to be complete, with all supplemental materials, and submitted 60 days before the event, and the City says failing that is grounds for denial. You will need a parking plan sized for 125 percent of expected attendance, a security plan, an electrical plan, and a site plan. A stage needs a building permit, and tents or canopies over 400 square feet need a fire permit. The Building and Safety Division handles it on 714-741-5307.
What the City does not tell you: The event application never mentions restrooms. There is no required ratio, no minimum, and no accessible percentage in the paperwork, and portable toilets are not among the items the site plan has to show. That means the number is yours to justify, so it is worth agreeing it with the City reviewer before you file. Your account manager can prepare a unit schedule you can attach.
Food vendors: Food booths and mobile food units are reviewed by the county health authority through the organizer, and that review brings its own sink and employee restroom expectations. Allow for it in the count.
In a dense city, placement is a planning exercise rather than an afterthought.
Set units on level, firm ground with a clear truck approach. Alley access and shared driveways are common here, so confirm the gate width and any height restriction before delivery day. Keep the door clear of parked cars, planters, and low branches.
Keep units well away from food service, drinking water, and storm drains. On a job site, place them within reach of the crew, with the washing station standing beside the toilets. At an event, break the bank into small clusters with an accessible unit in each, and mark them on the site plan the City asks for.
Weekly service is the baseline. Larger crews, warm inland weeks, and multi-day events usually justify two or three visits, and the units stay far better for it. Each stop means the tank pumped, the bowl and floor scrubbed, the surfaces wiped, and paper and sanitizer replaced.
Waste from a Garden Grove unit is pumped by a service truck and taken to a permitted treatment facility rather than discharged locally. The City does not publish a receiving point for hauled portable restroom waste, so your account manager will confirm the approved disposal site along with your service days.

Most Garden Grove orders can be on site within 24 to 48 hours. Three to five days gives us room to match the exact mix. Spring and fall weekends book out fast across Orange County, and the 60-day event permit deadline means the paperwork, not the fleet, is usually the constraint.
Five habits that keep a delivery smooth:
Prime Dumpster arranges porta potty delivery across Garden Grove and the Orange County cities beside it, including Anaheim, Santa Ana, Westminster, Stanton, Fountain Valley, Orange, Cypress, Buena Park, Fullerton, and Huntington Beach. Whether the job is on a resort district site, an industrial unit off Knott Avenue, or a community event downtown, we plan the delivery, the service visits, and the pickup around your dates.
A standard unit runs $199–$349 and an accessible unit $200–$300. Deluxe flushing and sink models sit between $300–$400, solar units between $500–$600, and restroom trailers begin at $1,500. Unit count, rental length, and service frequency decide the total, which your account manager confirms in a free quote.
Garden Grove publishes no restroom ratio in its event paperwork, so there is no local number to apply. For private parties we plan on one unit per 50 guests over about four hours, adding units where alcohol is served. Bring your peak attendance to your account manager and we will agree the count with the City.
California goes beyond the national rule. One separate toilet facility is required for each 20 workers, or part of 20, of each sex, at every crew size, plus one washing station per 20 that stands outside the unit. Under five workers, one all-gender unit covers it. Give your account manager the crew split.
Weekly service is the baseline. Each visit means an emptied tank, a scrubbed bowl and floor, wiped surfaces, and fresh paper and sanitizer. Larger crews, hot spells, and events running more than a day usually justify two or three visits a week. Your account manager can match the stops to your busiest days.
No. A unit on ground you own or control needs no Garden Grove permit. Public ground does: Public Works issues a right-of-way encroachment permit covering anyone who wants to encroach on the City right of way, and traffic lane work needs a traffic control plan too. Your account manager can tell you which applies.
A standard unit is a single narrow stall with a toilet, a urinal, and sanitizer. The accessible model is wider, enters at grade with no step, and carries grab bars plus space to turn a wheelchair. Any Garden Grove event open to the public should include one, and so should a site with a worker who uses a chair.
A weekend already sits inside our three-day ranges. Expect $199–$349 for a standard unit, $300–$400 for a deluxe flushing model, and $150–$250 for a handwashing station. Your account manager will confirm the delivery window, any Saturday service visit, and the pickup day.
Tell us about your event or project and your zip code. We will work the crew count, draft a unit schedule you can file with the City, and give you a clear number.
Your Prime Dumpster account manager handles the details, from unit count and service schedule to permit contacts and delivery timing, so you can focus on your event or project.
