Find Sustainable Porta Potty
in American Canyon
Prime Dumpster rents porta potties across American Canyon, California, and the south Napa County and Vallejo-side communities it sits between. Units go out to housing and warehouse construction on the east side of town, to vineyard and wetland restoration work, to road, levee and utility crews along the Napa River, and to events of all sorts, from a park festival to a youth soccer tournament to a winery-country wedding on a private lawn.
Four things set your number: the model, how many, how long you keep them and how often a truck returns. Below are our ranges, the California worker counts that genuinely differ from the national ones, what the City does and does not publish about events, and how fast we can get to you.
Those ranges assume a three-day booking, which is the shape of most American Canyon weekend orders. A Saturday on its own and a Friday to Sunday window usually cost the same.
California changes the shape of a job site quote before anything else does. State rules pair a washing station with the toilets on a crew of five or more, and in most cases that station has to stand outside the unit as a separate item. So an American Canyon site order is normally two line items rather than one, and the second one is a legal requirement rather than something we added.
Wind and access come next. The south end of the Napa Valley funnels afternoon wind off the bay, so units on an exposed pad need staking and a sheltered spot where we can find one. A unit heading onto a levee road, a vineyard track or soft marsh-edge ground takes a different vehicle from one dropped on a graded lot off Broadway.
Then the term. Job sites are quoted in four-week blocks with the weekly visit included, and the per-week figure eases after the first block. Event bookings are priced on the visit schedule, so tell us whether the event runs one day or three.

Request a Quote NowCalifornia writes its own construction rules and they are genuinely stricter than the national ones, so this is the section to read twice if you have worked in another state.
Our porta potty calculator gives you a first figure. Your account manager will then apply the California pairing rule and the food stall count before anything is confirmed.
Choose on who uses it and for how long. Everything is set out on the porta potty options page.
The Standard Porta Potty is the working unit on local sites: a private stall with a toilet, a urinal, a paper holder and sanitizer.
The ADA-Compliant Porta Potty is wider, has a flat level entry, and carries grab bars with wheelchair turning space.
The Deluxe Flushing Porta Potty flushes and holds odor down far better, which guests notice at a wine-country reception.
The Deluxe Porta Potty with Sink puts a sink, soap and a mirror inside the stall. Worth knowing: on a California job site of five or more this does not replace the separate washing station, which has to stand outside.
The Solar Porta Potty runs its light and fan off a roof panel, which answers a levee or vineyard site with no power and an evening event.
The Handwashing Station is the item California makes a separate, outside line item on a crew of five or more, and the one your food stalls need within 200 feet.
The Restroom Trailer arrives with several private stalls, running water and climate control, which is the right answer for a wedding or a long build.
Give your account manager a crew size or a guest count and they will put a compliant mix together.
On private ground, no. American Canyon issues no permit for a portable restroom on a private lot, a driveway or a fenced work site. What is unusual here is how little the City publishes about anything else.
Private property and work sites: keep the unit inside your property line and off the public sidewalk. If the job already has a building permit, the restroom is part of your site setup.
Streets and public ground, honestly stated: the City's municipal code has a whole title for streets, sidewalks and public places, and it contains only three chapters, covering park and recreation area use, camping on public property, and an underground utility district. There is no encroachment permit chapter and no general street obstruction provision in it. So there is no published route to point you at, and anything going into a City street needs a call to Public Works first. Your account manager will make that call with you.
Where the street is a state highway rather than a City street, the encroachment permit comes from the state transportation department instead of the City. Check which authority owns the frontage before you plan a roadside placement.
Events: American Canyon publishes no special event permit application at all. Its special events page lists the City's own seasonal events, and the one related document is an operational procedure for taking part in a City-organized parade, covering registration, waivers and conduct. Nothing in it mentions restrooms, sanitation or washing. If your event is on City property you are into the park and facility reservation system rather than a permit process, and anyone holding a reservation can ask you to leave the space.
One City rule that does name portable toilets: the park code has a section headed for restrooms and portable toilets, making it unlawful to fail to cooperate in keeping them neat and sanitary or to use them for anything other than their purpose. It is a user duty rather than a count, but it tells you the City expects portable units at a park event and expects them looked after.
The practical upshot: with no published ratio and no published application, an American Canyon organizer carries the whole judgment. That is a good reason to size the order properly with your account manager and keep the paperwork you do have.
Start with firm, level ground and a clear approach for the truck. Ground near the marsh and the river can be soft year round, and the afternoon wind off the bay is strong enough to matter, so units on an open pad get staked.
Keep units at least 15 feet from any food service and well back from storm drains, sloughs and the river bank. On a work site, place them within roughly 200 feet of the crew and set the washing station beside but separate from the unit, which is what California requires. At an event, split the units into small groups near the crowd but downwind of the cooking, and leave each group reachable by the truck.
Weekly service is our baseline and more is simple to arrange. Each visit pumps the tank, washes out the interior and restocks paper, soap and towels for both the unit and the washing station. For a multi-day event we schedule a visit for each day rather than one at the end.
Napa County's environmental health division is the office your food vendors deal with, and the California food-worker toilet and handwashing count above is the one they apply. Your account manager will confirm the service interval and the disposal arrangement before the first delivery.

Most American Canyon orders can be on site within 24 to 48 hours, and three to five days lets us bring the exact models you want. For a harvest-season weekend, a festival or a wedding, allow several weeks, because the whole north bay competes for the same dates from August to October.
Five habits that keep a delivery here smooth:
Prime Dumpster arranges porta potty delivery across American Canyon and the communities close by, including Vallejo, Benicia, Napa, Fairfield, Suisun City, Hercules, Martinez and Rodeo, plus the work sites and venues on the roads between them. This is the tightest cluster we serve in the north bay: Vallejo is about seven road miles away, Benicia eleven, and Hercules, Suisun City, Fairfield and Martinez all sit inside twenty.
Allow $199–$349 for a standard unit and $200–$300 for an accessible one. Deluxe flushing and sink models are $300–$400, solar units $500–$600, and a restroom trailer starts at $1,500. Remember California pairs a $150–$250 washing station with the toilets on a job site.
Work from one unit per 50 guests over roughly four hours and add 15 to 20 percent where wine or beer is served. American Canyon publishes no ratio of its own, so your account manager sizes it against your real head count, your hours and your food stalls.
California requires one toilet facility for every 20 employees or part of 20 of each sex, with no upper limit, so a mixed crew of 20 needs two. Below five employees one single-user all-gender unit is enough. A washing station is required per 20 as well.
Weekly as standard, more often on request. Every visit pumps the tank, washes the interior and restocks paper, soap and towels, including the washing station. Multi-day events get a visit each day, and summer sites with food on them do better twice a week.
No. American Canyon requires nothing for a unit on your own lot, driveway or fenced site. Keep it behind the property line and off the sidewalk. The City publishes no encroachment chapter for the street, so anything in a roadway needs a conversation with Public Works first.
A standard unit is one narrow stall with a toilet, a urinal and sanitizer. The accessible model is wider, enters flat with no step, and holds grab bars and clear turning space for a wheelchair. Any event open to the public should include at least one.
Our ranges rest on three days, so a weekend is the base case. Expect $199–$349 for a standard unit, $300–$400 for a deluxe flushing one, and $150–$250 for a handwashing station. Your account manager sets the drop and collection times.
Tell us about your event or project and your zip code. We will size the order to the California counts, set the washing stations where the state wants them, and quote you on the call.
Your Prime Dumpster account manager handles the details, from unit count and service schedule to permit contacts and delivery timing, so you can focus on your event or project.
