Most construction and household debris is accepted. The exclusions come from Florida law and from what each County facility will take.
Florida law keeps four categories out of ordinary disposal. Lead-acid vehicle batteries are barred from landfills and from any waste-to-energy facility. Used oil has its own route. Yard trash cannot go into a lined Class I landfill. White goods, meaning large appliances, are handled separately. The State sets those limits, not the hauler.
The City will not take household hazardous waste at the curb either, and that list is worth reading before you load: electronics, fuel, used motor oil, paints, solvents, antifreeze, chemicals, fluorescent tubes, propane tanks, tires and household or automotive cleaners. Those items go to a County drop-off instead, and the County's hazardous waste service is free to residents of Casselberry and every other incorporated city in Seminole County. Businesses cannot use that free service.
Asbestos is accepted at the County landfill by appointment only, and at a much higher rate, so it never belongs in a mixed container. Tires are capped by the piece at County sites. Raise anything unusual with your account manager before it goes in.
