Everyday construction and cleanout debris is welcome. The limits come from Florida's disposal rules and from what the county facility will take at the scale.
Hazardous waste, liquids, wet paint, solvents, fuel, used oil, and asbestos stay out of any standard container. So do flammable liquids and anything explosive, which Fort Pierce bars from waste containers of every kind.
Florida requires yard trash to be kept separate from other waste, both when it is set out and when it reaches the disposal site. Grass, palm fronds, and branches belong in their own load, not mixed into a remodel load.
Fort Pierce also draws a hard line around construction debris itself. The city bars putting construction and demolition debris into a container meant for other kinds of waste, and its own wording says that mixing construction debris with anything else strips the load of its construction debris classification. In plain terms, a clean load of lumber, drywall, and roofing costs less and causes fewer problems than the same material tossed in with bagged household trash.
Tires, appliances, and electronics should be set aside and mentioned when you book. If an item has you guessing, ask your account manager before it goes over the rail.
