Plant City says plainly that it does not operate a landfill, so everything collected here is taken to approved sites elsewhere in Hillsborough County. There are two county facilities worth knowing about, and a catch that affects every construction job.
The Southeast County Landfill at 15960 County Road 672, Lithia, FL 33547 is the County's disposal site, open Monday through Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It takes non-burnable solid waste, scrap metal, appliances, and tires. Here is the catch: it does not take construction and demolition debris, concrete, or asphalt, and the County's waste-to-energy plant does not take them either. Building debris from Plant City therefore goes to a privately run construction and demolition facility, which is part of what your quote covers.
Closer to home, the County runs the Alderman's Ford Solid Waste Facility at 9402 County Road 39, Plant City, FL 33567, open Monday through Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for hand unloading. It accepts paint, electronics, batteries, appliances, bulk items, tires, and scrap metal from county residents with photo identification, and the County states that businesses are not authorized to use it.
Because the routing depends on what is in the container, your account manager will confirm the destination and the disposal charge before delivery day.
