Private property is the only option here, so this section matters more than usual.
On your own driveway or job site, you need no separate container permit from the City. What you do need is the right position. North Miami requires a container to be stored on the owner's premises no closer to the street than half the depth of the property, unless the lot backs onto a used alley, and the City can inspect and approve where a container sits. Lids stay closed over the debris at all times.
A container may not go on the swale or in the public right-of-way at any time. The City's definition of a garbage container covers a roll-off, so there is no street option to apply for, and no permit that would create one.
Two more local points. A container in a side, rear or front setback at a commercial or multifamily property that is visible from the road, or that backs onto a residential area, has to sit inside a City-approved enclosure with a working gate. And placing or collecting a container is not allowed between ten at night and seven in the morning.
Separately, the City licenses the company that collects construction and demolition debris. That is our side of the arrangement rather than yours, but it does mean a North Miami booking is confirmed against the City's requirements before a truck is dispatched. Your Prime Dumpster account manager handles that and will confirm your placement works before delivery.
