Most remodel and cleanout debris is welcome. The limits come from Florida law and from what the county will take at the gate.
Florida bars a short list from landfills outright. Lead acid batteries are out, and they can't go to a waste-to-energy plant either. Used oil is out. Yard trash is restricted at lined landfills unless the site captures and uses its landfill gas, so plan on keeping branches and clippings separate.
Pinellas County adds its own refusals at the disposal complex. Vehicles and mobile homes, biological and infectious waste, explosives, gasoline and fuel oil, hazardous waste, liquid waste, and radioactive waste are all rejected at the scale. Asbestos, sludge, soil, treated lumber, and boats aren't walk-ins either; they need a booked appointment.
Tires have their own rules. Up to four may stay on the rim, the rest have to be stripped, anything over 36 inches must be quartered, and five or more tires in a load changes how the load is priced.
Paint, solvents, and fuel stay out of a standard container as well. Ask your account manager about anything that feels borderline, because a rejected load costs a day and a return trip.
