Lumber, drywall, plaster, lath, roofing, flooring, siding, trim, cabinets, fixtures, and general cleanout junk all load without an issue. Illinois is the reason for the exceptions.
State law keeps electronics out of landfills. The Illinois environmental agency puts it plainly: landfilling many common electronic items, including televisions and computers, is prohibited, and manufacturers have to fund the recycling instead. Tires are barred too, and used tires have to go to a permitted tire disposal or recycling site.
Batteries are the other common trap. The state asks residents to take used batteries to a drop-off site, because they start fires in trucks, at sorting facilities, and at landfills.
Hazardous waste, liquids, paint, solvents, and fuel stay out of a standard container, and asbestos needs its own licensed handling. Household chemicals go to the county's household chemical waste program, which takes residential material by appointment.
Pull those items out before loading and mention them when you book. Your account manager can tell you which ones we can route separately.
