Most construction and cleanout debris is fine to load. The limits come from Illinois law and from the facility that receives the load.
Illinois now keeps a long list of electronics out of landfills. Since the start of 2026, televisions, monitors, computers, tablets, printers, scanners, game consoles, and home audio gear are all banned from landfill disposal, for businesses and households alike. One television can get a whole load turned away, so pull electronics out first.
Hazardous material stays out too: paint, solvents, fuel, used oil, pesticides, and anything corrosive or flammable. Liquids, asbestos, and medical waste cannot go in a container.
Tires and large appliances need separate handling, so flag them when you book.
Village curbside collection is no help for a remodel. It takes only one bulk item a week, caps bundles at four feet and sixty pounds, and covers household construction material only when it is not from new construction. A container is the practical route, and your account manager can confirm the details for your particular load.
